4. Public Event Broadcasts and Photography
The Mission records its events and Majalis for internal archives and for public broadcast on platforms such as YouTube and social media. These sessions are considered public events.
Photography and Media Capture:
In addition to video broadcasts, the Mission, through its authorised trustees or designated volunteers, may take photographs and short video clips during events. These images may be used for community updates, newsletters, website content, and internal reports. Furthermore, as these are public community gatherings, the Mission cannot prevent or control photography or filming by members of the general public in attendance.
Broadcast and Photography Zones:
The entirety of the Mission premises, including all prayer halls, recital areas, and communal spaces, are considered potential broadcast and photography zones during events. By attending these sessions, individuals acknowledge that they may be captured in video recordings or photographs. This includes children who are attending the sessions, events or participating as reciters.
Withdrawal of Accommodation:
The Mission cannot accommodate requests to blur, exclude, or remove specific individuals from these public broadcasts or group event photographs. Attendees who do not wish to be filmed or photographed are advised to consider this before entering the premises or participating in events.

Photography and Broadcasts: As outlined in Section 4, children participating in or attending events may be captured in video broadcasts and photographs. By allowing a child to visit our mission, parents/guardians acknowledge that the child may appear in the Mission’s public media and that the Mission cannot accommodate requests for blurring or removal from public event recordings.
Safeguarding Records: If a specific safeguarding concern arises involving a child, we will process and retain that information in accordance with UK statutory legal standards (retained until the individual’s 25th birthday) to fulfill our legal duty of care.
Madrassa Exception: Detailed personal records and individual parental consents are only maintained for students formally enrolled in our structured Sunday Islamic School (Madrassa), which is governed by its own specific educational policies.
